Bed Rest, Hospital, Baby names and more!

It all began in April, when I would walk up/down my stairs, my entire torso would get super tight and uncomfortable. I thought it was strange and very different from my first 2 pregnancies. As my belly has grown, I've found it more difficult to stand and do laundry, dishes or other household chores.

On April 7th my doctor put me on light activity at 28 weeks, which meant very little lifting, no twisting and especially no toting toddlers around.

Next appointment was about the same, April 21st at 29 weeks my doctor put me on Procardia to stop contractions and told me to take it easy put my feet up every hour and be careful.

Then at 30 weeks I went to Utah for a week with the girls, so Chad could replace our air conditioning/heating system. While staying with my parents I noticed even the simplest of tasks where getting harder and making me dizzy.

After a full week of being pampered and taken care of by my parents it was time to head home and I felt horrible. Not sure if I could drive all the way home and very nervous. I called my brother for a blessing and some advice. He helped me to calm my nerves and gave me a very wonderful blessing. I was able to drive home without to much of a mishap. The last half hour my stomach felt super tight and I was really achy. Then as we pulled off the 215 right by our house, Peyton threw up and started to sob. I called Chad and told him we were almost home and I could really use his help. He left work a little bit early and headed home to scrub out the car, wash the car seat and start some laundry. I managed to get Peyton stripped down and in the tub which calmed her pretty quick. Luckily, my mom had offered to keep Brynlyn for a mini vacation. What a huge help!

I had a nasty cold the entire next week, and both girls had also gotten sick. Not sure what I would have done with 2 sick kids and feeling yucky myself.

On May 5th at 32 weeks pregnant my doctor appointment was emotional. After the exam, Dr. Michaels was very serious and said "you are 50% effaced and dilated to a 1, which means you are now on bed rest". She increased my dosage of Procardia almost double what it was.

I talked to Chad and our moms, then went to pick up Peyton from my good friend Amy. Peyton and I went straight home to watch a movie and stay on the couch until Chad got home. My mom decided to head for Vegas a day early to bring Brynlyn home and help out.

We had a very simple but fun Mother's day. I was so excited to receive a shower chair! Silliest but most exciting gift ever. Now I could shower without having contractions continuously. Chad also spoiled all the girls with Gift certificates to a salon for Pedicures and Manicures. Brynlyn, myself and my mom get to have a spa afternoon after baby girl #3 arrives. It was sad for me not to attend sacrament and see Brynlyn sing with the primary for Mothers day. But she brought home a cute hand print she decorated and a cupcake, then told me all about singing her best for the moms at church! My mom was so wonderful and took care of so much, she even made a few batches of Jam from a flat of strawberries in my fridge. I don't think she went to sleep before midnight the entire time she was here(4 days)! What an amazing women.

Monday night May 9th I had been keeping track of my pains and they were getting closer and closer together. My sweet friend Megan was at my house playing with the kids and making dinner for us. After getting a return call from my doctor she told me to head to Summerlin Hospital. So Chad finished up work quickly and headed home. Off we went to the hospital for the next 7 hours. My contractions were 5-11 minutes apart and getting stronger. I had 3 shots of Terbutalin before the nurses were able to slow them down enough to send me home. So happy I did not have to stay in the hospital overnight! The shots made me very jittery, hot and shaky. What a crazy experience. When Megan had to leave our house, my Uncle Larry, Aunt Kathy and cousin Brittany came over to stay with the girls. They refused to go to sleep, so when we got home they were snuggled up next to Larry on the couch watching 101 Dalmations.

One good thing came from hanging out at the hospital with my husband and lots of waiting to be done! We decided it was time for baby girl#3 to have a name. So we discussed for a little while when Chad wasn't snoozing in his uncomfortable chair. I thought he might fall out of the small wooden chair. He was super awesome and kept me smiling the entire night! Baby girl's name will be Miyah Worthen.

Next hospital visit happened just two days later on May 11th. Same thing as last time, contractions getting stronger and closer. We called our neighbors and they were very willing to take me to the hospital so Chad could get the girls in bed. The Guevara's were so sweet, they stayed with me at the hospital and brought me home after a couple hours. More meds and instructions to get some sleep and complete bed rest. So now I get up when I need to use the bathroom and the rest of the day and night I am in bed with so many wonderful people taking care of everything. Feeding me and my family, doing laundry, cleaning my house and so much more. This is not the way I imagined having a vacation reading and working on my scrapbooks, but if this is how I get it. :)

Hopefully baby Miyah will stay put until the first or second week in June when I am almost full term at 37 weeks.

You are so good about documenting everything. I love the name. Brynlyn told me that the name was from Suite life on Deck and all I could think of was Kyptin (?). Miyah is VERY cute.

See you Monday. Just enjoy the pampering!
