Maternity pics

Last week my good friend Amy came to my house and took maternity pictures at 35 weeks!

It was so fun to leave my bedroom for half an hour. I enjoyed the sunshine and light breeze. She captured some really cool pics. Peyton was super cute, and very concerned. She repeatedly brought my water to me and got frustrated when I would sit it down. She is a very nurturing little girl. I'm excited to see how each of the girls will react to a new baby! I was also very surprised that I did not have a single contraction while having my pictures taken. I am currently having contractions 30 to 90 minutes apart all day, and some wake me at night. I am excited to be done with labor. After 8 weeks of contractions, I'm worn out!

I had an ultrasound last week. The baby is measuring perfect, my fluid levels look awesome, she is head down and ready for delivery. The doctor gave me orders to stop taking my med's at 36 weeks and no more bed rest! :) She did warn me to take it easy, after an entire month of bed rest, I will be weak. I'm looking forward to the beginning of June. We shall see what happens.

34 weeks

34 weeks Prego

My wonderful Mother-in-law spent a good portion of the day feeding and taking care of me and the girls! Steph dropped me off at my weekly doctor check up and took the girls to her house for some playtime! Brynlyn and Peyton had so much fun with their cousin Baylee and Grammy's animals!

I have gained one pound in two weeks, which isn't much. But at least I'm not losing weight anymore. Baby Miyah is measuring right on schedule, but Dr. Michael's scheduled an Ultrasound for next week to be sure her growth is sufficient. If not, at that point they will give me steroids for baby. We are anxious to see if baby is breech or if she will turn by next week. I am just over 50% effaced and dilated at a 2. So the med's and bed rest are working to slow my progression. I have two more weeks of bed rest and med's then I will be far enough along to have our sweet girl! I'm looking forward to June 2nd when I can be a little more active and hopefully have a couple days to get everything prepared for baby Miyah.

Jake and Lindsey's Wedding

The decorations were gorgeous, everyone looked awesome and happy! I am so thankful that I was doing well enough to attend the ceremony. Thanks to my mom for getting the girls ready and helping me in my weak state. We were all dressed in wedding colors and looked cute. Chads grandparents were very sweet and let me borrow a wheelchair. It was a double wide wheelchair, perfect for me a purse and a kid!

Almost the entire family was able to be there. We missed Richard!

The kids looked so wonderful in the outfits Grammy got for them!

Linz and Jake looked awesome, very stunning couple!

I felt very blessed to be a part of the wedding day, and really enjoyed being with my cute flower girls.

Bed Rest, Hospital, Baby names and more!

It all began in April, when I would walk up/down my stairs, my entire torso would get super tight and uncomfortable. I thought it was strange and very different from my first 2 pregnancies. As my belly has grown, I've found it more difficult to stand and do laundry, dishes or other household chores.

On April 7th my doctor put me on light activity at 28 weeks, which meant very little lifting, no twisting and especially no toting toddlers around.

Next appointment was about the same, April 21st at 29 weeks my doctor put me on Procardia to stop contractions and told me to take it easy put my feet up every hour and be careful.

Then at 30 weeks I went to Utah for a week with the girls, so Chad could replace our air conditioning/heating system. While staying with my parents I noticed even the simplest of tasks where getting harder and making me dizzy.

After a full week of being pampered and taken care of by my parents it was time to head home and I felt horrible. Not sure if I could drive all the way home and very nervous. I called my brother for a blessing and some advice. He helped me to calm my nerves and gave me a very wonderful blessing. I was able to drive home without to much of a mishap. The last half hour my stomach felt super tight and I was really achy. Then as we pulled off the 215 right by our house, Peyton threw up and started to sob. I called Chad and told him we were almost home and I could really use his help. He left work a little bit early and headed home to scrub out the car, wash the car seat and start some laundry. I managed to get Peyton stripped down and in the tub which calmed her pretty quick. Luckily, my mom had offered to keep Brynlyn for a mini vacation. What a huge help!

I had a nasty cold the entire next week, and both girls had also gotten sick. Not sure what I would have done with 2 sick kids and feeling yucky myself.

On May 5th at 32 weeks pregnant my doctor appointment was emotional. After the exam, Dr. Michaels was very serious and said "you are 50% effaced and dilated to a 1, which means you are now on bed rest". She increased my dosage of Procardia almost double what it was.

I talked to Chad and our moms, then went to pick up Peyton from my good friend Amy. Peyton and I went straight home to watch a movie and stay on the couch until Chad got home. My mom decided to head for Vegas a day early to bring Brynlyn home and help out.

We had a very simple but fun Mother's day. I was so excited to receive a shower chair! Silliest but most exciting gift ever. Now I could shower without having contractions continuously. Chad also spoiled all the girls with Gift certificates to a salon for Pedicures and Manicures. Brynlyn, myself and my mom get to have a spa afternoon after baby girl #3 arrives. It was sad for me not to attend sacrament and see Brynlyn sing with the primary for Mothers day. But she brought home a cute hand print she decorated and a cupcake, then told me all about singing her best for the moms at church! My mom was so wonderful and took care of so much, she even made a few batches of Jam from a flat of strawberries in my fridge. I don't think she went to sleep before midnight the entire time she was here(4 days)! What an amazing women.

Monday night May 9th I had been keeping track of my pains and they were getting closer and closer together. My sweet friend Megan was at my house playing with the kids and making dinner for us. After getting a return call from my doctor she told me to head to Summerlin Hospital. So Chad finished up work quickly and headed home. Off we went to the hospital for the next 7 hours. My contractions were 5-11 minutes apart and getting stronger. I had 3 shots of Terbutalin before the nurses were able to slow them down enough to send me home. So happy I did not have to stay in the hospital overnight! The shots made me very jittery, hot and shaky. What a crazy experience. When Megan had to leave our house, my Uncle Larry, Aunt Kathy and cousin Brittany came over to stay with the girls. They refused to go to sleep, so when we got home they were snuggled up next to Larry on the couch watching 101 Dalmations.

One good thing came from hanging out at the hospital with my husband and lots of waiting to be done! We decided it was time for baby girl#3 to have a name. So we discussed for a little while when Chad wasn't snoozing in his uncomfortable chair. I thought he might fall out of the small wooden chair. He was super awesome and kept me smiling the entire night! Baby girl's name will be Miyah Worthen.

Next hospital visit happened just two days later on May 11th. Same thing as last time, contractions getting stronger and closer. We called our neighbors and they were very willing to take me to the hospital so Chad could get the girls in bed. The Guevara's were so sweet, they stayed with me at the hospital and brought me home after a couple hours. More meds and instructions to get some sleep and complete bed rest. So now I get up when I need to use the bathroom and the rest of the day and night I am in bed with so many wonderful people taking care of everything. Feeding me and my family, doing laundry, cleaning my house and so much more. This is not the way I imagined having a vacation reading and working on my scrapbooks, but if this is how I get it. :)

Hopefully baby Miyah will stay put until the first or second week in June when I am almost full term at 37 weeks.

Emotional Roller coaster

Not my favorite picture of myself, but cute kids!
At my doctors appointment last week the doctor did the exam and with a serious look on her face said you are on bed rest! I was 32 weeks, 50% effaced, dilated at a 1 and the baby is measuring 2 weeks behind.
Even on complete strict bed rest and meds to stop contractions, my body is still progressing. Every time I stand up I have pains and even when I'm laying down. They are sporadic some every hour others as close as every 15 minutes.
Bed Rest is tricky! I've had many emotions over the past week. Worry and nervousness about the baby, doing what I can to keep her in long enough. Feeling sad and angry that I can't take care of my sweet little girls. Overwhelming feelings of things that will not get done. But I have had some wonderful priesthood blessings and great thoughts shared from others that have helped keep things in perspective. Chad and my Mom have done so much, they are both exhausted I'm sure but amazing! I now feel calm and happy. I'm doing my best to stay positive and be nice to everyone. It sure makes things better when you have a more positive outlook.

Brynlyn does really well and loves to help me with things occasionally. But most of the time she is mean, defiant and angry. Peyton gets very emotional and cries for me, she loves to cuddle with me and hates bedtime. It's so hard to lay here and listen to the struggles. I am learning some great patience and communication with my children. I try really hard not to yell, and just talk to them in calm voices, give them lots of loves and reassurance's that mom is okay.
In Brynlyn's prayers she asks that baby sister can safely be born soon, so we can all do fun things again.

Sweets

Sweet girls enjoying a great vacation at Grandma's house! Brynlyn loved the sweets and helping Grandma in the kitchen. Peyton was entranced with the movie Tangled. We were very spoiled by my parents for the week. In the meantime Chad was home working hard to replace our Air Conditioning/Heating system.31 weeks 3 days prego

Trying my best to stay down and relax.

A Treasure

I have the most amazing grandparents. They have always been such a wonderful example to me. I treasure my relationship with them. I have learned much about them through sharing my love and talent of scrapbooks and journaling. And in return my Grandpa Blackburn has shared his talent of woodworking with me.

He made me a fancy cedar chest before I was married. I also have a custom white crib he made over six years ago for our first daughter, and Peyton is currently sleeping in it. He just surprised me with this custom handmade bassinet for our 3rd daughter. The only thing he spent money on was the metal hardware to make it rock. His brother and My Great Uncle Larry that I just love, helped him make all the dowels and shaped posts. Another thing that amazes me is my grandpa had carpal tunnel surgery just six weeks ago on one hand and is ready next week to have the second one done. So he did all this wood work in lots of pain and while healing from surgery.

I have three pieces of nice wood furniture all treasures handmade by someone who I love so dearly. I am truly blessed.

The Farm

While in Utah, we went to the farm. Uncle Monty and Aunt Carla have a gazillion chickens... Adult chickens, teenage chickens, and baby chicks!

Peyton was unsure, but once she warmed up to the fuzzy little things she touched one a couple times while Grandma held it for her.
Brynlyn loved all the animals and did not want to leave. She was pretty excited to help feed the cows and explore as much as she could! It was cold and windy, so we didn't stay to long. But it was tons of fun and the kids really loved it!

Brynlyn and the princess Salon

Brynlyn has been asking to have her hair done at the princess salon. She was a very big girl and had fun getting her hair trimmed.
Peyton on the other hand was not happy to have her first hair cut.
She was great when it was over and wanted to share her doll with all the stylists.

Peyton finished with a cute curly bob!

Easter

This was the best picture I could manage on Easter Sunday.

The girls were very happy and would not hold still very long.
