38 weeks Thursday, June 16, 2011
I went to my weekly doctors appointment with my mom. She decided to come to town and hoped the doctor would induce me while she was here. My doctor did the exam and said "you are dilated to a 5, I can feel the baby's head and your water bag is bulging! Would you like to go to the hospital right now and have a baby today"?
I said "yes, please"! So I called Chad once I was in the car. My mom and I went home to give the girl's hugs and get my hospital bag!
We arrived at the hospital at noon and waited for a room to be prepared. At 1:45 I had my IV and they started a very small dose of pitocin. My contractions were 15 minutes apart when I arrived at the hospital and pretty painful. After the pitocin started to kick in my pains became really bad and I got an epidural at 2:45. At 3:04 the nurse broke my water and I was dilated to a 6. Just 30 minutes later I was at an 8, they turned off the pitocin and 12 minutes after that I was fully dilated at 10 and completely ready to deliver. We waited about half an hour for the doctor to arrive, and the nurses kept telling me don't push wait for the doctor. After just two pushes Miyah Stephany Worthen was born at 4:22 on Thursday, June 16, 2011. 8lbs 19 3/4 inches! The last few minutes were a little intense. Miyah came out with the cord wrapped around her neck once and twisted around her body twice. Everything went great without complication.
Chad spoiled the munchkins with an early birthday present for Peyton!
I am very surprised that after 5 weeks of bed rest and almost 9 weeks of contractions I made it to 37 weeks! Waaa hoooo!! At my doctor appointment I was dilated to a 3 and 70 effaced. I also gained 3lbs in one week. Crazy! Baby Miyah's heart rate was great and I'm now measuring a week ahead. Things are great, now we wait! I am getting anxious and tired of contractions. Hopefully all this pain is helping me progress!
Birthday party at Grandpa & Grandma Greats with all the cousin's and extended family! The girls were very well behaved and even ate dinner at the party, which is unheard of! Everyone spoiled them with fun presents. I mostly sat in one of the plastic chairs and watched the festivities.
After the family party we headed home and spent some time enjoying the amazing spring weather! Brynlyn did tricks for dad on the slide. Peyton mastered the slide all by herself and no longer wants to hold hands! 
We decided at bed time that Peyton's crib needed to be changed into the toddler "big girl" bed! I was tired of hearing her jump to the floor after scaling the sides and afraid she would eventually hurt herself. The girls were both very excited, and Peyton now uses her bed for jumping, toys and sleeping!
