Our morning began like normal with 2 little munchkins playing in my bathroom, while I got ready for the day. Next we head downstairs for breakfast and spill an entire bowl of cereal on my pants. I take my pants off and continue with breakfast. Brynlyn wanted to share her breakfast with Peyton. Reese's Puffs cereal(so healthy, I know). At least my picky eater ate something for breakfast! Peyton starts whining and rubbing her face. Within seconds of eating a few Reeses Puffs her face was bright red with swollen white splotches all over!
I freaked out inside, but kept my calm and told ms. Brynlyn we needed to get to the doctors. She started to sob, thinking she could never go to dance class. After a few phone calls... I had Angela (lifesaver) lined up to meet me early for dance. A doctors appointment for Peyton and advice from Aunt Larue who has a son with major peanut allergies. I quickly got dressed again and headed to meet Angela, then to the doctor!

Our doctor was awesome and gave Peyton a dose of Benadryl the moment we got there. We will be doing allergy testing after she turns one. The doctor also checked her tongue which was a bit swollen and her lungs that were just fine. He went over a list of foods that are common allergens for baby's and suggested we stay away from those. Introducing new foods will be tricky at our house, but the doc said use caution. He also said the first few reactions to peanuts or other foods are usually not to bad, but get worse each time and cause big issues.
Looks like my little one has a severe allergy to Peanuts or Chocolate. Poor baby was swollen for 2 days and oh so grouchy!!!

OMG! Wyndee! That is awful! Lydia never swelled after an attack but as you remember her face was purple and she was a hard ne to diagnose! Peanuts are Legume so she might not suffer from actual nut allergies, so hopefully that is the case..Lydia still can not eat Legumes, soy or dairy..hope it is not as complicated as my little girl
Bleh, food allergies suck! And I should know ;) In that picture she is NOT a happy girl. Good to hear that she's okay now!!
Very Scary, now two sweet girls in the family with allergy's Very thankful for medicines that make things better!
Oh my I am so sorry that you had to find that out that way! It makes it sooo hard for sure. I hope things go better and maybe she will grow out of it. NOT that you want to try it again for sure! Give them loves for me and Kinlee says she wants to play with Brynlyn!
I am so glad she is okay! Poor little thing!
